Your Responsibilities
As an Allround Mechanical Assembly Technician, you are responsible for independently building, adjusting, and completing machine components, modules, and complete production lines. You combine broad practical versatility with solid mechanical assembly skills and technical insight. In addition, you play an active role in guiding less experienced colleagues on the shop floor. You work within the agreed schedule and quality standards, while having the freedom to determine the most practical assembly sequence and approach yourself.
Location: Koog aan de Zaan
Position in the organization: This role is part of the Assembly department and reports to the Assembly Team Leader. You work daily with fellow technicians and regularly coordinate with Work Preparation and Engineering.
Team size: You work within an assembly team consisting of mechanical and electrical technicians with varying levels of experience. There is strong practical collaboration and on-the-job support within the team.
Your Tasks:
- Receiving and reviewing drawings, parts lists, work instructions, and planning information from work preparation and the Team Leader Assembly
- Checking the completeness and usability of materials, parts, and work information before starting work
- Independently assembling subassemblies, modules, machines, and complete production lines
- Performing fitting work, alignment work, adjustment work, and trial fitting of machine components and structures
- Correctly assembling components such as bearings, drives, motors, and other mechanical parts according to specifications
- Performing disassembly and reassembly work when part of the assembly process
- Carrying out dry runs, pressure tests, functional checks, and visual inspections during and after assembly
- Identifying and assessing deviations in fit, operation, drawings, or materials and taking appropriate action within applicable guidelines
- Recording completed work and keeping assembly and sign-off reports up to date
- Handing over completed work in the correct condition
- Guiding and supporting less experienced colleagues during assembly activities
- Providing practical feedback to planning, work preparation, and engineering, and suggesting improvements
- Working according to applicable safety, environmental, occupational health (HSE), and quality requirements, and handling tools, measuring equipment, and lifting equipment with care
Your Profile
- MBO level 3 or 4 education in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, assembly, or equivalent
- Several years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly or machine building in a production environment
- Proven craftsmanship in mechanical assembly, alignment, adjustment, and testing of machines and modules
- Good knowledge of mechanical assembly methods, bearings, drives, measurement techniques, pressure testing, and functional checks
- Able to work independently and make practical decisions regarding approach and execution within assigned tasks and planning
- Accurate, quality-conscious, and result-oriented
- Team-oriented and willing to support less experienced colleagues
- Familiar with technical drawings, parts lists, and assembly documentation
- Basic knowledge of production registration systems and common digital tools
- Proficiency in Dutch and/or English
