To strengthen our team at our Norderstedt location, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d).
Your Responsibilities
Together with your team, you will work on the continuous improvement of our globally established shredding machines. In close cooperation with sales, service, and product management, you will ensure that customer requirements are turned into reality.
Location: Norderstedt, occasional business trips (max. 10%)
Organizational classification: The position is located within the Design department and reports directly to the department manager.
Team size: You will work as part of a team of 8 colleagues. The team consists of engineers, technicians, and technical drafters.
International connections: Due to the global structure of our group of companies, there is regular coordination with international locations and customers and occasional project work in intercultural teams.
Your Tasks:
- New and further development of machines from design to production documentation based on our roadmap
- Close cooperation with project planning, process engineering, and automation in the development and implementation of plant concepts
- Independent constructive design and adaptation of machines for customer orders (creation of detailed designs, drawings, and parts lists, selection of purchased components, etc.)
- Evaluation and implementation of requirements from machine, ATEX, food, and other relevant guidelines
- Remote or occasional on-site support for our service team during commissioning and maintenance assignments
- Active involvement of customers and suppliers in the design processes and change management
Your Profile
- Completed technical degree in mechanical engineering, state-certified technician (m/f/d) specializing in mechanical engineering or comparable training
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience in the field of design and development at a mechanical engineering company
- In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Solid Edge) and a good understanding of common manufacturing processes
- Enjoyment of engineering work, e.g., literature and market research, approximate and exact calculations, systematic problem solving, etc.
- Very good German and good English skills (German at least B2)
- Commitment and independence combined with good communication skills, team spirit, customer orientation, and a confident manner
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
